New Volvo  S60 marks the other changes in the Swedish brand, the look is much more dynamic, but more important is the experience of driving a much more dynamic.

A front-drive S60 T5 2.0 turbo diesel models will be added in March 2011, the price of NZ $ 63,990, and it will be available with a 6-speed dual-clutch gearbox ‘powershift’ Getrag developed by Ford and Volvo for the owner to change.

Along with the new car, a new nomenclature for the car in the range. Now the numbers after the letter of appointment (as in D5) does not match the number of cylinders, but the level of general competence of the car. As an example of the D5 engine torque 420nm, while the D3 engine (sold abroad) have the same number of cylinders, but produce lower amounts of power and torque.

Currently the most powerful model in the series, the T6 224kW and 440nm torque, allowing many opportunities for higher performance models.

As you might expect, security is still an important aspect of the S60, with a new generation of Dynamic Stability and Traction Control (DSTC) system that provides advanced stability control. There are two additional security features that go even further, with Pedestrian Detection with full automatic brake, and the Volvo City Safety, which was first seen on the Volvo XC60. Previous brakes could help 50 percent of the brakes, but the new system allows the car to a complete halt, making it possible to stop-start traffic without pressing the brake pedal – a recognized need a lot of confidence in implementing the system.
