As for the first time in the history of Mercedes-Benz, the car was shown to the press, two weeks before it was officially on 14 March 1963 at the Motor Show in Geneva launched. It was a tour of high-performance sports car with superior handling characteristics, the two passengers plus luggage were in style, comfort and above all safety wear. It was a Mercedes Benz to a large extent on their own. To show the sports side, Uhlenhaut, always available for a quick blast around a race track, the 230SL pushed by a 1.5 km loop circuit near Montreux, in the presence of the press. In the office of Frank McClure, protected in a velvet lined box, is the number of cars licensed Arizona 178. He “was released in 1914, when Mount Mansfield opened its Ford dealership in Tucson. McClure has worked for Mansfield 1954-1958, the years Mansfield sold his business to Holmes Tuttle Ford. When Mount Mansfield died, his widow has given license to McClure , who is now president of Holmes Tuttle Ford. Then you just run the car off the lot with its paint job nice and bright again. On the way home, an 18-wheeler speeds past you pull up all kinds of road debris, including small stones. Do not think too long, but when you get home it comes to their attention the fact that all this dirt road that appeared chipped, scratched or damaged your new paint job. It is not legal.

The bad news is that if you’re already at that point, it is too late. There’s nothing you can do much if you do not get these chips and scratches touched up, but not the same thing. The good news however is that, with an estimated “bit, you can avoid the inevitable. Small stones and debris in the road happen. This is only a matter of driving. But if you consider this before you hit the road, you can buy and apply a protective film that will keep all that junk to damage your car.

Not only is this bad road debris on the paint of your car, but it can also damage the headlights making them less reliable. Use of lights can be dangerous and nobody wants to replace an entire lighthouse. Read more…
